Scottish Selections 19-Dec-09
Scottish Selections 19Dec’09
Alloa WIN @13/8 (vs. Dumbarton) – 1 star bet.
Stranraer WIN @13/8 (vs. Elgin City) – 1 star bet.
Alloa vs. Dumbarton
Alloa have been in great form recently winning their last 3 games. Dumbarton should be one of the better teams in the division but haven’t been performing that way and their home record is patchy. This is a tight game but Alloa come into it in better form and are taken to win at 13/8.
Elgin City vs. Stranraer
Elgin city have been great away but not so good at home, they’ve had their confidence shaken in recent games by loses to Forfar and Livingston. To compound that, they’ve also got a bit of a bug running through the team. While Stranraer are no world beaters, they’re a team capable of winning this and 13/8 represents decent value.
Scottish Selections 12-Dec-09
Dunfermline to win @11/10 (vs. Ross County) – 1 star bet ( ladbrokes, paddypower & several others )
Alloa to win @7/5 stanjames (vs. Brechin) – 1 star bet
Elgin City to win @10/3 bet365 & victorchandler (vs. Albion) – 2 star bet
Dunfermline Vs. Ross County
Dunfermline are finally starting to come good and climbing up the division,. They’re strong at home when Ross are not good away. Thake the 11/10 Dunfermline continue their upward curve.
Alloa Vs. Brechin
Alloa have been in cracking form recently, beating league leaders Cowdenbeath last week. Brechin have been struggling in the cup to highland league side, Wick Academy. It’s priced up as a pick’em – it’s a no-brainer – Alloa are g00d value at 7/5.
Albion Vs. Elgin
Elgin have a great away record and at 10/3 they are an absolute stand out to continue this. Although they lost recently away to Albion, Elgin were unlucky in that they had a man sent of relatively early on. Take the10/3 that they can get their revenge for that day.

Analysis

Airdrie vs. Queen of the South
Airdrie have been poor recently but that’s largely their away form – they’re capable of better at home. Queen are the better side too but it’s all about the value and at 11/4 the draw is overpriced. You can make good money backing the draws in these grades of football and this is too good an opportunity to miss.
Partick vs. Inverness
Two of the better teams in the division go head to head and it has to be said, Partick haven’t been great recently – they’ve lost their early season confidence. Inverness are a team that bizarrely tend to have better away than home form. Take the 7/4 that they move up to 3rd in the division.

Dundee to WIN @5/4 (vs. Inverness) – 1 star bet

Analysis

Queen of the south Vs. Dunfermline
A clash between two of the better sides in the division. Queen of the south have been superb at home recently and the 6/5 is a good price that they continue this run.
Dundee vs. Inverness
Dundee on paper are the strongest side in the division with some good, creative players. It is a team that are starting to play well together. They should have enough to beat Inverness who have been a little inconsistent away from home this season.
Berwick vs. Montrose
Good away form has seen Berwick creep into contention for the title this season. Montrose having been playing well recently and Berwich should really be 10/11 not 11/10 to win this. Take the value.
DRAW – Albion vs. Annan
Both teams go into this tie showing very mixed recent form. The 3rd division is hard to judge at present but here we have two equal teams, both lacking confidence. Draws aren’t the most common result but at 11/4 it is the best value in this game.
Scottish Selections 14-Nov-09
Raith to win @ 5/4 (vs. Morton) – 1 star bet
Stirling Albion to win @ 11/10 (vs. East Fife) – 1 star bet
A good start last week with 1 win from 1. I will start posting a weekly results blog titled “Scottish Results” soon.
This week there are two selections.

Morton vs. Raith
Raith have had a hard time of late, playing some of the better sides in the division with mixed results but today come up against perennial losers Morton (lost last 5). Confidence is low at Morton and we can expect Raith to win this at a widely available 5/4 when they should really be odds-on.
East Fife vs. Stirling
Stirling are a solid marker in this division. They beat Fife 3-0 earlier in the season. They haven’t been playing well the last two games but then Fife aren’t a great team and we can expect them to pick up form again with an away victory. Stirling were available @5/4 but this has gone. However, the 11/10 is still value and should be taken.
Scottish Selections 07-Nov-09
Hi all,
Dumbarton to win @ 7/5 (vs. Stenhousemuir) – 1 star win bet
Just one from me today to start the trial, although normally there’ll be plenty on a Saturday. Dumbarton are coming back into form and surprisingly pay some top wages for this division so should be one of the stronger sides. Stenhousemuir have a small squad and are starting to experience injuries. This should be tight but a win for Dumbarton.
