Football Betting Advice From The Oracle

Welcome to Football-Bets.co.uk the home of the Oracle.

This is a football betting subscription site concentrating exclusively on football and focusing on a number of different leagues, not just in the UK but across Europe.

All selections are made by our industry insider "The Oracle".
You can find out more about him by clicking on the link to the right.

The Oracle's selections generally come from the English leagues but he will also recommend a couple of bets from European leagues each week.

His recommendations will nearly always be single bets with the occasional double. Trebles and upwards are just not profitable and they are the bedrock of bookmakers football profits. He very rarely tips odds on shots as he is aware a lot of punters bet in relatively small stakes and prefer to maximise their profits by backing larger prices. Besides, anybody can tip Man Utd and Chelsea each week, the skill is in identifying teams who have been underestimated at larger prices.

It is important to remember that because many of the selections he makes are at bigger prices there will be plenty of losing bets over the course of the season. This should not alarm you as your winning bets will return a lot more than if you had backed an odds on shot.
For example, if the Oracle recommends two bets at 2/1 and one at 4/1, then a profit will be made even if the two selections priced at 2/1 lose. On good weekends when they all win you will have made considerable profits.

There are several things you can do to ensure you get the most out of the service. The Oracle's staking system works on a points basis from one to three indicating how strongly he fancies a selection. The majority of bets will be one pointers, which basically means he fancies the team and thinks there is some value in the odds. Two point bets are also fairly regular and it means he is more confident about a team winning than normal or thinks that a price is way too big. Three pointers are a little more rare. If The Oracle makes a three point recommendation then he is extremely confident about the team winning and thinks that the odds are hugely wrong. An example of a three point bet might be when one team has suffered a flu outbreak and are struggling to field a team. They are obviously not a certainty but whatever your maximum bet is, you should be having it when three points are recommended.

To make the most of this system you need to decide on a staking plan.
Maybe decide what is the maximum amount you are willing to put on a three pointer and divide it by three and that will give you your unit stake. So if the most you are willing to risk on a bet is £300 then £100 is your unit stake and the amount you will bet on a one point recommendation.

If you just have the same amount on each selection or just put all The Oracle's bets in an accumulator then you will not be able to maximise your profit. How strongly he recommends something is very important. For example, if the Oracle recommends a two point bet on one selection and one point bets on two other selections, then you should be putting the same stake on the two point selection as the combined stakes of the other two selections.

It is also important that you open an account with all the major online bookmakers, mainly Ladbrokes, Hills, Paddy Power, Stan James, Skybet, Blue Square, Betfred, Boylesports, Sportingbet, Bet Direct and Victor Chandler. Most offer free bets to new customers and are very safe to bet with. It is crucial that you also have a Betfair account as being able to lay teams is a very useful tool and you can often back selections at far bigger prices than are available with bookmakers. If you have a Ladbrokes or Hills shop near you then you should place your bets on their shop coupons as often as possible as you will benefit from prices that have gone online and from their inability to monitor your bets. If you just take the Oracle's selections and go down to your local bookmaker in the high street you will also struggle to maximise your profits. It is crucial to your long term profits that you take the best available price. Even if you are only having relatively small bets, over the season the extra bit of value you are taking will add up to a nice sum.

There are other sites who have ex players and managers giving their opinions. The big difference though is whilst they know about football they don't know about betting. Just from reading some of their comments you can tell that they have no idea what value is or when something is the wrong price. They've never worked on a trading floor and don't know how bookmakers think or the methods they use to formulate their prices. More importantly they don't know the flaws in some of these methods.
